Raising Cane's plans to enter Mexico in the second half of 2026 after signing a development agreement this week with Alsea, S.A.B. de C.V.
Alsea is a leading restaurant operator in Latin America and Europe with a portfolio that also includes Domino's Pizza, Starbucks, Burger King, Chili's, P.F. Chang's, The Cheesecake Factory, and more.
The agreement with Raising Cane's includes plans to explore additional opportunities in the region following its debut next year. The chain currently operates more than 950 restaurants across 43 U.S. states and the Middle East and has also recently announced plans to expand into the United Kingdom next year .
"We are excited to partner with Raising Cane's — an iconic brand — and support its international growth," Alsea chief executive officer Christian Gurria said in a statement. "By leveraging our deep understanding of the Mexican consumer and the restaurant industry, we aim to deliver outstanding food experiences and introduce world-class brands to our customers."
Alsea shares are traded on the Mexican Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol ALSEA.
Raising Cane's was one of the fastest growing chains in Technomic's Top 500 report from 2024 and its momentum doesn't appear to have slowed this year, as the chain targets more than 1,600 restaurants nationwide. To support its growth, Raising Cane's is moving into a new support center in 2026 . The new office will be located on Legacy Drive in Plano, Texas, and will quadruple its current office space. It also has the capacity for "thousands" of support office employees, compared to its current 650 support office employees.
