Ripple lawyer John Deaton has hailed Robinhood (Nasdaq: HOOD) for considering opening up private equity investments to average retail investors.
Robinhood is planning to create a route for amateur investors to put money in private artificial intelligence companies, as per a recent Financial Times report . CEO Vlad Tenev said he is more interested in giving "normal people" exposure to private AI companies than worrying about a potential bubble forming in the sector.
Deaton congratulated Tenev for the move and said it's about time we stopped excluding 85% of the American people from being able to invest in private equity.
"There are ways to protect retail investors from fraud, misrepresentation and bad actors without excluding them from building wealth."

In fact, Deaton referred to the wealth gap in the U.S. as the "biggest threat" to the constitutional republic. He accused "career politicians" like Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA), Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA-11), and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) of being addicted to the printing and spending of fiat currency and in the process, robbing youngsters of their prosperity.
Though he couldn't successfully challenge Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) during the election last year, Deaton has launched another campaign to run for the Senate seat currently held by Ed Markey.
The total crypto market cap stood at $3.54 trillion, down 1.16% in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, XRP has dropped 2.86% in day as it trades at $2.45.
