Prominent attorney and longtime XRP advocate John E. Deaton has reignited discussion around XRP Ledger's native token after highlighting veteran trader Peter Brandt's latest technical analysis on the digital asset, which hints that its long-term chart could be one of the "purest"in classical market history.
Brandt, a commodities trader with over 40 years of experience, shared a weekly chart that presented a decade-long series of symmetrical triangle consolidations in XRP/USD , followed by a subsequent violent breakout. "As a student of classical charting principles and history, has there ever been a purer long-term chart? $XRP,"he asked on X.
Deaton — best known as the attorney who represented tens of thousands of XRP holders during the SEC's lawsuit against Ripple — quickly responded, tagging crypto analysts BCBacker and CredibleCrypto: "I'd like to know what both @BCBacker and @CredibleCrypto think related to Peter's point?"
Analysts respond
CredibleCrypto, posting under the handle CrediBULL Crypto, described XRP as one of the strongest high time frame (HTF) setups in the market. He said, "The $XRP chart remains one of the most bullish HTF charts in this entire space, and I look forward to seeing $XRP at double digits by the end of this cycle." Deaton welcomed the reply with a simple, "Glad I asked!"
To add another perspective to the conversation, chart analyst ChartNerdTA has likened the current setup of XRP to the astronomical bull run of 2017. In 2017, XRP traded sideways for years until breaking a long-term resistance and climbed to nearly $4.

Referring to the Fibonacci extension point, the analyst predicts that the targets of $20 - $30 will be reached if history repeats. "How can you ignore the similarities to 2017?"the analyst wrote.
However, not all responses to Deaton's post were supportive. User Jaxes questioned the bullishness on XRP saying he wants "John more btc less xrp , still don't understand why the constant shilling of xrp after everything that's happened around Ripple",but Deaton doubled down:
"I guess 80% of my net worth isn't enough. I'll guess I'll try harder."
At the time of writing, XRP trades around $2.41, down nearly 6% in the last 24 hours.
