U.S.-listed spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) finally broke their inflow streak.
Since their debut on Nov. 13, 2025, XRP-linked ETFs maintained a streak that was unmatched by spot Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) funds over the same period.
However, on Jan. 7, 2026, XRP ETFs recorded the first outflow of $40 million, as per the onchain analytics platform SoSoValue.

XRP ETFs break records
Data from SoSoValue shows that XRP spot ETFs attracted fresh capital every trading session since launch until Jan. 6, lifting cumulative net inflows to roughly $1.62 billion.
On Dec. 8, 2025, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse had highlighted the "pent-up demand" for regulated crypto investment products such as XRP ETFs.
But after the latest outflow, the total net assets amounted to $1.53 billion on Jan. 7.
21Shares' TOXR was the only fund to record net outflows, with $47.25 million leaving the ETF. In contrast, funds from Canary, Bitwise, and Grayscale posted modest net inflows of roughly $2 million each.
"The first net outflows from U.S. spot XRP ETFs mark a notable shift,"BTC Markets crypto analyst Rachael Lucas told The Block . "However, the scale remains small—less than 3% of total inflows since launch."
Lucas suggested the withdrawals were likely driven by profit-taking following XRP's sharp climb from $1.80 to $2.40 in a week, compounded by a broader market correction.
"On-chain metrics — including low exchange reserves and heightened transaction activity — still point to underlying strength,"Lucas added. "If inflows return, XRP could make another push toward $3."

The outflows coincided with a spike in XRP Ledger whale activity earlier in the week.
According to on-chain analytics provider Santiment , large-value transfers surged, driving $100,000-plus transactions to their highest level in nearly three months — a pattern that often precedes heightened volatility.
At the time of writing, XRP was trading at $2.12, according to CoinGecko .
