Investing.com -- Barclays' European Telecom Services report keeps its sector view at "neutral." It estimates a c4-7% five-year revenue risk (8-13% at EBITDA level) from Agentic AI and satellite competition. After cutting terminal growth assumptions, five stocks remain Overweight, with price targets (PTs) reduced by 5-10%.
Deutsche Telekom
Barclays calls DTE "a core holding in European telecoms". It is exposed to the US market, which has a more supportive regulatory and competitive environment than Europe, and in Germany it is seen as well placed given its premium positioning.
The broker estimates a 5.2% revenue impact, a c9% EBITDA headwind and a -15% theoretical equity impact. A possible SpaceX hybrid terrestrial/satellite network is not included in the valuation. Upside case €42, downside €20.
KPN
KPN is upgraded to "overweight" from "equal weight." Barclays cites its defensive properties and a supportive competitive and regulatory environment as a buffer, and notes the stock trades broadly in line with peers on 2027 FCF.
The estimated revenue impact is 5.3%, EBITDA impact c8% and theoretical equity impact -7%. The key risk is disappointment on medium-term FCF/DPS delivery. Upside case €5.00, downside €3.50.
Teliam
Also upgraded from "equal weight," Telia is described as "a relative safe haven in EU Telcos". Barclays sees steady execution in Sweden and expects the 2027 CMD to support mid-term FCF growth.
The estimated revenue impact is 4.4%, among the lowest covered, with a c8% EBITDA headwind and -7% theoretical equity impact. The main risk is slipping from c2% service revenue growth and 3-4% EBITDA growth. Upside case SEK58, downside SEK25.
Tele2
Rating unchanged. Barclays sees Sweden and the Baltics as "good" markets with relatively rational competition and a stable structure, plus structurally low medium-term capital intensity.
It sees upside from in-market M&A and a positive influence from Iliad. The estimated revenue impact is 4.3%, the second-lowest in coverage, with a c8% EBITDA headwind and -5% theoretical equity impact. The biggest risk is slowing growth after Iliad takes a controlling stake. Upside case SEK220, downside SEK150.
Zegona
Zegona acquired Vodafone Spain for €5 billion, and Barclays sees several value levers: stabilising revenue trends, material cost transformation and NetCo/ServCo value creation.
Spain carries lower satellite risk than other markets. The estimated revenue impact is 4.9%, EBITDA impact c9% and theoretical equity impact -12%. Strong competition remains the largest risk. Upside case 2,900p, downside 1,300p.
