Billionaire Elon Musk-led Space Exploration Technologies Corp.may be a commercial spaceflight company, but its aggressive compute buildout is fast becoming a crucial element of its business.

SpaceX's Data Center Buildout Exceeds Google

On Tuesday, semiconductor research firm SemiAnalysisreleased a deep-dive analysis on SpaceX's compute power. The aerospace heavyweight is positioning itself to build out 13GW of AI compute capacity in 1.5 years, the firm said, calling it the "largest" data center capacity in the world.

Don't Miss:

The research firm also notes that this timeline would amount to the largest burst of data center infrastructure ever constructed by a single company over that period.

To put that scale into perspective, SemiAnalysis highlighted that SpaceX aims to build in 18 months roughly what took Alphabet Inc.'s Googlenearly three decades (from 1999 to 2026) to assemble.

SemiAnalysis revealed it has already mapped out over 9GW of identified capacity across specific sites, including 3.6GW currently under active construction. SpaceX is driving these rapid buildouts by repurposing rocket campuses, evaluating facilities like its TeraFab chip fabrication facility being built in collaboration with Tesla Inc..

SpaceX was also deploying power solutions like gas turbines and large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) to bypass traditional utility interconnection delays. The analysts contend SpaceX is already outpacing hyperscale peers and Chinese builders in raw execution speed.

SemiAnalysis previously outlined that reaching a 10GW footprint alone could potentially lead to $300 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR) by the end of next year. The firm models that frontier-model AI clusters can generate approximately $100 million in revenue per megawatt annually.

Bill Ackman Touts $1 Trillion Debt

Investor and Pershing Square Capitalfounder Bill Ackmanweighed in on SpaceX's AI buildout efforts, saying that the company could rival entire countries and need a trillion dollars in financing to fund Musk's AI data center compute targets, referring to the CEO's comments during the Q3 2026 earnings call.

Notably, SpaceX recently announced it was raising $40 billion in debt to buy graphics processing units, or GPUs, to fund the companies AI buildout targets.

Jim Chanos Questions Data Centers

Short seller James Chanosalso questioned Musk's data center estimates, referring to comments made by Google's Energy Chief Amanda Peterson Corio, who warned that space-based data centers could cost 100x more than their terrestrial counterparts on Earth.

Building Wealth Across More Than Just the Market

Building a resilient portfolio means thinking beyond a single asset or market trend. Economic cycles shift, sectors rise and fall, and no one investment performs well in every environment. That's why many investors look to diversify with platforms that provide access to real estate, fixed-income opportunities, precious metals, and even self-directed retirement accounts. By spreading exposure across multiple asset classes, it becomes easier to manage risk, capture steady returns, and create long-term wealth that isn't tied to the fortunes of just one company or industry.

EquityMultiple

For accredited investors looking beyond stocks and bonds, EquityMultiple provides access to vetted commercial real estate deals starting at $5,000 , with only ~5% of opportunities passing their due diligence process.

Arrived

Backed by Jeff Bezos, Arrived Homes makes real estate investing accessible with a low barrier to entry. Investors can buy fractional shares of single-family rentals and vacation homes starting with as little as $100 . This allows everyday investors to diversify into real estate, collect rental income, and build long-term wealth without needing to manage properties directly.

American PowerGen

As artificial intelligence drives a surge in electricity demand, reliable power generation is becoming a critical part of the technology ecosystem. American PowerGen is developing natural gas-fired power plants in Texas, a fast-growing market fueled by AI data centers, manufacturing expansion, and population growth. By advancing projects through permitting, fuel supply, and grid interconnection, the company is positioning itself to help meet rising energy needs while offering investors exposure to the infrastructure supporting the next wave of AI and industrial growth.

Bito

As AI coding tools take on more of the work traditionally done by developers, companies are facing new challenges around code quality, context and the rising cost of AI-powered development. Bito is building software designed to help AI coding agents better understand complex codebases while helping companies control AI development costs. Founded by former PubMatic executives, Bito has raised more than $10 million from institutional and individual investors and is now raising additional capital through a Wefunder offering, giving investors an opportunity to invest in a company targeting an emerging need within the rapidly expanding AI software market.
