Semiconductor shares staged an early recovery Friday, with memory and processor makers among the biggest gainers after Thursday's broad technology rout.

Micron Technology ( NASDAQ:MU ) jumped about 7% in premarket trading, putting the memory chipmaker among the strongest performers in the sector. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) posted a similar gain, while Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) advanced 6%.

Intel (INTC) and Broadcom ( NASDAQ:AVGO ) also recovered, each rising approximately 5% before the opening bell. Nvidia ( NASDAQ:NVDA ) added about 4%, following its 9% decline in the previous session.

The rebound came after the Nasdaq Composite suffered its steepest daily drop in 19 months on Thursday. Concerns about the political environment surrounding data center construction and AI infrastructure spending had weighed on technology shares.

Friday's gains offered some relief to chip investors, although the sharp reversal in sentiment highlighted the volatility surrounding the AI trade.
