Nvidia ( NASDAQ:NVDA ), the leading AI chipmaker, has come under fresh pressure after SemiAnalysis reported that its next-generation Kyber NVL144 AI server rack system has been delayed by more than 12 months, pushing it back to 2028. The setback is reportedly tied to manufacturing difficulties in printed circuit boards used for the platform. Nvidia did not respond to a request for comment outside regular office hours, leaving investors to weigh the potential impact on its next-generation AI infrastructure roadmap.

The report triggered sharp declines across Asian technology suppliers closely tied to the AI hardware chain. Ibiden, a Japanese printed circuit board maker that counts Nvidia as its largest client, dropped as much as 10%. Kingboard Laminates Holdings, a Hong Kong-listed laminate supplier, tumbled 18%, while Elite Material, a Taiwan-based materials supplier, fell 10%, and Samsung Electro-Mechanics, a South Korean electronics components maker, slid 11%. The selling pressure suggests investors are becoming more sensitive to any possible disruption after a powerful run in AI-linked stocks.

The broader reaction also reflects growing caution after recent volatility in global technology shares, with headlines around AI overcapacity and rising competition already shaking sentiment last week. Samsung Electro-Mechanics has surged more than 600% this year, while Kingboard Laminates is still up more than 470%, making both stocks vulnerable to profit-taking. A delay to Kyber does not necessarily point to weaker AI capital spending, but it may suggest Nvidia's most ambitious next-generation system architecture could take longer to deploy, potentially giving alternative AI platforms a wider competitive window while investors turn next to Samsung Electronics' earnings report due Tuesday.
