SoftBank Group ( SOBKY ), the Japanese technology-investment powerhouse, rose nearly 1.3% to $14.96 after majority-owned SB Energy filed for a U.S. initial public offering. The company arrived with a monster headline number: roughly $439 billion in contracted backlog. The chart places the shares 5.13% above their $14.23 GF Value estimate, suggesting the market is already pricing in a slice of the upside.

Now comes the reality check. SB Energy's first-half revenue surged 66.4% to $138.7 million, but its net loss exploded to $3.21 billion from $215.5 million. It has 8.8 gigawatts of data-center capacity contracted or under construction, yet not one data center is currently operating. Nvidia has committed $1.5 billion at the IPO price, while OpenAI holds warrants valued at approximately $5.5 billion. The company's official announcement confirms plans to trade under the symbol SBE.

The numbers are staggering from every angle. The backlog is more than 3,100 times six-month revenue, giving investors huge visibility on paper but an equally huge execution gap on the ground. Long-term agreements with SoftBank and OpenAI strengthen the revenue story, although they concentrate the earliest business among closely linked strategic partners. This IPO could unlock a public valuation for a major SoftBank asset. It will also test how much investors are willing to pay for capacity that has not yet gone live.
