Airbnb's new house rules policy, which takes effect on Nov. 20, has been met with pushback from hosts with some threatening to leave the platform or raise fees.Hosts cannot make guests "complete tasks that require significant effort or time, or would typically be performed by a cleaner." The change targets one of guests' most persistent complaints about the platform: paying a cleaning fee and being handed a chore list anyway.
