Good American Jeans review: Are they worth the price tag — and the hype?

As a size 10 woman with full hips, I've dealt with my fair share of issues with finding jeans that fit my curves over the years. From waist gapping to tight thighs, I had come to terms with the idea that my search for the best jeans would always come with some type of compromise. Then Good American came along, claiming to solve exactly that. Needless to say, I was all ears.

Co-founded by Khloe Kardashian and Emma Grede in 2016, Good American is a denim brand that has built a major following for its size-inclusive denim and innovations like its Always Fits technology that promises one-size-fits-four sizing with extreme stretch that still looks polished. 

I've spent the past 10+ years reviewing and testing products for major publishers, trying on more pairs of jeans than I can count, so I made it my mission to figure out if Good American jeans were really worth the hype, especially since I'd never tried the brand but have plenty of friends who are obsessed. That alone was enough to make me want to see what all the fuss was about. 

I tested three of Good American's most popular styles — the Always Fits Good Legs Straight , Good Legs Flare and Good Skate Wide Leg — for over two weeks each. I wore them through everything from running errands to happy hour drinks with friends, to figure out whether or not they actually deliver.

Good American Jeans review 2026: Your need-to-knows

Always Fits Good Legs Straight Jeans review

Fit:When I first pulled them out of the package, I honestly thought that they would not fit. They just looked way too small. However, after a little jumping and wiggling (IYKYK), I got them on, and they adapted to my body just as the brand promises. The amount of stretch they offer is impressive. The one-size-fits-four claim holds up, but is a little flawed. As a size 10, I'm on the higher end of the 6-12 range and these jeans fit me snug, especially through the hips and thighs. While they do fit, they definitely hug a little more than I'd like, so if you're closer to a size 12, these may feel too tight on you. That said, some reviewers have found the opposite: "I'm usually a 14 so I got the 14-18 ones. They technically fit but I have a lot of room in the waistband," one Redditor said. All said: They may run snug or loose if you're on either end of your size category. On the upside, the gap-proof waistband claim delivers here: I had zero gapping in the back, which is always a win for anyone with curvy hips.

Feel:They're very stretchy, like high-quality jeggings but heavier denim, which keeps them looking like a regular pair of jeans. They are softer than traditional denim but not so soft that they feel like a legging. They are stretchier than most denim I own, and for a fitted style jean, I'd say they are very comfortable. After a full day of wear, they stretched with my body but never sagged or bagged out at the knees. After washing, they snapped right back into shape and I had to slide into them all over again.

Silhouette:The Good Legs Straight style tapers from thigh to ankle, which is not my favorite look personally, but may work on those who prefer a straight-leg jean. They fit very snug through the hip and thigh and then opened to a looser leg below the knee, creating more of a cropped flare effect than a true straight leg, in my experience. The 27.5-inch inseam hit above the ankle, which is a little more cropped than I like at 5'4". If you want a full-length straight leg, look into the long inseam option. (Good American also offers this style in petite .)

Styling:They can be easily dressed up or down with the right shoes and top. I wore them with a plain white fitted tee and sneakers and they looked polished and put together. If you like a more body-hugging straight leg, you'll probably love these. If you prefer a more relaxed fit, size up or select another style altogether.

Good Legs Flare Jeans review

Fit:This pair fit really well through the hips and legs with no waist gapping, but I did find them to run slightly small since I am in between sizes. Sitting was comfortable and the gap-proof waistband delivered as promised, but I found myself pulling them up throughout the day to stay comfortable. I think sizing up would improve the overall fit — something to keep in mind if you're also between sizes.

Feel:The denim provides extreme stretch without losing its structured denim look. It moves with you and held its shape all day. I washed and air-dried as directed, which made them stiff but they bounced right back into shape after a few minutes. Once they loosened up, the second wear felt just as good as the first. I'd say that compared to the Always Fits, the Flare is slightly less stretchy and has a bit more structure to it, which can be attributed to the lower elastane content. Overall, the Flare feels more like traditional denim and is less soft than the Always Fits, which is actually a plus if you prefer a more classic denim feel.

Silhouette:The mid-rise hit me at a great point and sat comfortably without feeling too low or too high. I'm 5'4", so the 33.5" inseam ran slightly long on me, but a low heel or platform quickly fixed that. If you're around 5'6" or have longer legs, they'll likely hit perfectly with flat shoes, and for taller women, Good American does offer a long version too. 

Styling:The wash is a great color, allowing it to pair with just about anything. A kitten heel or platform was all I needed to keep the hem from dragging. This style works best for someone taller or with longer legs who likes a fit-and-flare silhouette. The structured denim and flared leg make it a great option for a dressier look, pairing well with a blouse and heels for dinner or a night out.

Good Skate Wide Leg Jeans review

Fit:The Good Skate offered the most thigh room of the three styles I tested, which made them the most comfortable fit for me. There was no waist gapping at all, which was the consensus across all three pairs. They didn't feel too stretchy or legging-like yet did an amazing job of smoothing the tummy area. The sizing was spot on and I didn't need to size up or down. Honestly, a lot of this comes down to personal preference. I've been leaning into looser fits lately and the Good Skate delivered exactly that, no hugging through the legs and a more relaxed silhouette overall. The Flare would be a close second since I also found that silhouette to be really flattering on my frame.

Feel: Of the three styles I tested, this one had the most traditional denim feel, which I loved. The 99% cotton fabric feels structured without being stiff. They feature 1% elastane, which gives them very little stretch compared to the other two styles. The Good Skate jeans held their shape well throughout the day with no sagging or bagging. After washing and air drying, they were slightly stiff but softened back to their normal state after putting them on.

Silhouette:The wide leg fit of this trendy style hugs the hips far less than the Good Legs Flare or the Always Fits Good Legs Straight, which made for a more relaxed and comfortable overall look. If you're curvy in the hips and thighs, this silhouette is worth trying. That said, the 34" inseam runs long. I'm 5'4" myself, but I'd say even some taller women would likely need to wear heels with these to keep them from that trendy heel-drag effect (but if you're into that look, you could just let them puddle and own the true '90s skater look!). 

Styling:I paired them with a simple tank and later with a blouse, and both worked really well. These wound up being my favorite pair that I tried. I found them most flattering for my body type, and the relaxed silhouette was a nice change from the other body-hugging styles.

How we tested Good American jeans

I'm 5'4" and typically wear a size 10 with curvy hips and thighs. I have a shorter torso and longer legs, which means jeans that fit my hips often gap at the waist and some inseams that fit other body types can run short on my longer legs. I tested the Always Fits Good Legs Straight in the 6-12 size range, the Good Legs Flare in a size 10 and the Good Skate Wide Leg in a size 10.

When testing these Good American jeans, I wore each pair multiple times over the course of two weeks. Throughout the process, I paid close attention to how each pair fit on first wear, including waist gapping and hip and thigh comfort and how each pair held up over a full day, keeping a close eye on sagging, bagging at the knees and whether or not they lost their shape during extended wear and washing.

I also evaluated the denim's quality and stretch and how the jeans looked styled with different shoes and tops, since a pair of jeans' style and aesthetic is its most important feature. 

Our final takeaway: Are Good American jeans worth it?

At $98 to $188, Good American is a hefty investment. However, after two weeks of testing three of its most popular denim styles, I think that the quality, sizing, stretch technology and gap-proof waistband make them well worth it.  

Each pair certainly delivered on quality, stretch and the brand's signature gap-proof waistband promise. Not one pair had waist gapping, which is a promise truly appreciated by someone who constantly deals with awkward waistbands.

My personal favorite ended up being the Good Skate Wide Leg, for its flattering, relaxed fit, but if you love a sculpting fit, the Good Legs Flare and the Always Fits Good Legs Straight are both great options. Just know that if you're on the curvier side or between sizes, sizing up in both of those styles would give you a little more room through the hips and thighs. 

It's also worth noting that Good American may not be for everyone. If you prefer a more rigid, classic denim feel, the stretch-heavy fabric may not be your thing. Shoppers who compare Good American to brands like Madewell often note that the two serve very different purposes. If traditional denim construction is your preference, Good American may not be the right fit. But as someone whose main point of contention is waist gapping, I can truly say that the hype is well-deserved.
