Swanson red-hot in 'unfathomable' turnaround

What has gotten into Dansby Swanson?
As of about two weeks ago, it looked like his days as a productive hitter could have been over.
Heading into a series against the Blue Jays that began on June 16th, he had a 175-281-306 slash line with seven home runs and 28 RBIs through 70 games.
Since then, in just 13 games, he has nine home runs, 29 RBIs, a 365 batting average, and nearly 1,400 OPS.
Nine home runs and 29 RBIs in 13 games after having seven and 28 through 70 is simply unfathomable.
Tons of Swanson's damage came during a three games against the Mets last week, where he had three home runs and 15 RBIs.
Then, during a three-game set against the Padres that wrapped up on Wednesday, he had eight hits, five home runs, and 11 RBIs.
So that was eight home runs and 26 RBIs in just 10 games.
Per ESPN's Jesse Rogers, that was the sixth instance a player's ever had 26 RBIs in a 10-game stretch since the RBI became an official stat in 1920.
Swanson joined Joe DiMaggio, Jimmy Fox, Mel Ott, and Lou Gehrig, who did so twice.
Not bad company at all for Swanson there.
Funny enough, between those games against the Mets and Padres, Swanson went 0 for 12 in a three-game set against the Brewers, which helps serves as a sobering reminder to all of us that Swanson is, of course, nothing like the Gehrigs and DiMaggios of baseball past, but also definitely not as poor as he was during most of the first half.
The true lesson here is to always err on the side of the projection systems, which told us all season that Dansby Swanson would still be a productive hitter, and if you stuck with him, you just had three of the best weeks in fantasy baseball history.
