Fairuzの歌は国境を超え広く中東で、 特にレバントと呼ばれる東の地域(Levant, 歴史的シリア)で愛されるアイコン的歌手。 「Naksa(ナクサ)」を歌った「Zahrat al-Mada'en(Flower of the Cities/Jerusalem in My Heart)」を Fairuzは1967年に発表していた。 1967年6月5日に勃発した第三次中東戦争で パレスチナ人の居住地区だった東エルサレムを含むヨルダン川西岸と ガザ地区はイスラエルに占領された。 国際法違反の侵略、占領政策、入植などにより 「Nakba(ナクバ)」に続いてパレスチナの人が 故郷を追われた強制移動だったのが「Naksa」。 Fairuzはいつかエルサレムが自由になる、と歌い パレスチナに連帯していた。
サンプリングというHipHopのコアな技法、表現により、 Fairuzの「Ana La Habibi」を知り、 そのバックグラウンドが立ち上がり通底する。 音楽的にも、冒頭からその調べは耳を掴んで離さないが...
