第1回目は見知らぬ人との会話。
Starting a conversationsで使う表現：
break the ice 話の口火を切る
strike up a conversation 会話を始める
Having or finishing a conversation:
shoot the breeze むだ話をする
brush someone off ～の言うことに耳を貸さない
give someone the cold shoulder ～によそよそしくする
How can you start a conversation and keep it going?
Strategy:
Commenting on surroundings
e.g. Great weather we've been having?
Hard day?
Asking for an opinion
e.g. Is that laptop any good? I'm thinking of buying one.
Askig about the other person
e.g. Heading home?
So,what line of work are you in?
Finishing a conversation
M:Excuse me.
I couldn't help noticing your letterhead.Do you work for Rakuten company?
W:Uh,if you don't mind ,I'm a bit busy at the moment...
M:Of course.Sorry to intrude.
