For those who remember it, this little tool brings back a wave of nostalgia. Back when I first joined the company, everyone used one, but once PCs became widespread, it all but disappeared from sight.
As for me, I still keep one on my desk to this day, and it’s incredibly handy when I need to erase tiny characters on a notepad. While I manage my schedule almost entirely on my smartphone and Outlook on my PC, I still can’t part with a notebook and pencil. By the way, since I dislike the unpleasant feel of metal scraping against metal, I put a strip of tape along the edge when I use it.
The other day I bought a new one and showed it to my kids—unsurprisingly, they had never seen or even heard of such a thing. That made me feel just a little wistful.
