The Deridder, Louisiana-based company said it had profit of 39 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for investment costs, came to 40 cents per share.
The insurance provider posted revenue of $79.8 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $80.1 million.
Amerisafe shares have dropped 34% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $25.30, a decline of 38% in the last 12 months.
