Hundreds of Connecticut-based employees face layoffs as Edgewell Personal Care, parent company of razor-brand Schick, prepares to close a manufacturing plant.
The company announced it will close its 10 Leighton Road, Milford location in Connecticut by the end of 2027, according to Connecticut state documents .
The closure will result in 293 layoffs and will begin as early as March 2026, continuing through December 2027.
Edgewell Personal Care filed a formal Workers Adjustment Retraining Notification on Nov. 13, as well as a letter to the mayor of Milford.
The company called the move a "part of a broader business decision," and not a reflection of Connecticut's business climate, CT Insider reported .
The company's headquarters will remain in Shelton, Connecticut.
"This will happen in phases," a spokesperson told the Connecticut Post , "we are committed to our employees' wellbeing throughout this process."
