Shell reported $10.8 billion in adjusted third-quarter earnings, nearly double the prior-year result. Record refining margins, stronger LNG prices, and chemicals profits supported the beat, while Shell raised its buyback to $5 billion. The main question is whether these unusually strong margins can continue.
