Goal 4 - Description: Equitable Access and Opportunity
Goal 4:" Every student will have access to high-quality academic programming and resources to support their success.
Equity Commitment:"We will prioritize data that describes student outcomes and lived experiences, to allocate resources and supports that are responsive to each student’s strengths and needs."
Measures:
A. Availability of, accessibility to, and student enrollment in coursework in the arts, STEAM, career and technical education, trades, technology, and world languages
B. Availability of and enrollment in advanced, rigorous coursework and programs (K-12)
C. Student access to and participation in formalized systems of early intervention, academic and other supports, including special education services and services for Multilingual learners
D. Disproportionality in course-taking patterns and participation in inclusive settings
E. Consistent availability of and accessibility to electives, extracurricular, co-curricular, and enrichment activities
Goal 4 - Reports
- Baseline Report: The Baseline Goal 4 Report , presented to the School Board on May 23, 2024, examines data from previous years to establish a baseline of student performance. Report data identify areas of celebration and areas of need for strategic plan work in the future.
- 2024-2025 Annual Report: The annual Goal 4 Report , presented to the School Board on March 27, provides an update on the Division’s progress towards meeting the 2030 goals of the Strategic Plan.
- 2025-2026 Annual Report: The annual Goal 4 Report , presented to the School Board on April 23, provides an update on the Division’s progress towards meeting the 2030 goals of the Strategic Plan.

Math and Science Olympiad
Fairfax County Public Schools is committed to expanding student access to extracurricular activities, and we're proud to continue growing opportunities for students to participate in and excel at Math and Science Olympiads, fostering critical thinking and a passion for STEAM.
Boys Volleyball and Girls Wrestling
As part of our commitment to Strategic Plan Goal 4, expanding student access to extracurriculars, these two new sports were added to all high school athletic programs in the 2024-2025 school year.

Unlocking Hope
FCPS is committed to serving the needs of each and every student. For Quinton, that includes cutting edge assistive technology that allows him to communicate through eye movement. AVID Showcase: Student Organization System
Gunston ES recently hosted an Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Showcase. Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid met Rajah, a 5th-grade student who walked her through the AVID Binder System. The AVID Binder organizes essential school materials and class assignments into one binder.
