皆さんはどのようにして英単語を覚えていますか？私の英単語を覚える方法は、周りの人に「私には知らない英単語はない！」と豪語することです。この方法、意外と効果的ですよ！
言葉は言霊（ことだま）。それ自体に魂があります。英単語にも、幸せをもたらす英単語があります。そんな英単語を覚えて、幸せになりましょう。
４月２７日の幸せをもたらす英単語は、「edify」を取り上げてみました。
例文としては、
I do not suppose the situation my friend Mrs Rooke is in at present, will furnish much either to interest or edify me.
という使われ方があります。
意味は、
to improve people’s minds or characters by teaching them about something
という意味になります。
教化したり、啓発したり、精神を高揚したりするときに使いますね。
【復習】
４月１０日の幸せをもたらす英単語 は、「osmosis」でした。
例えば、
Water passes into the roots of a plant by osmosis .
I learned French by osmosis while residing in Paris for 15 years.
という使い方がありました。
意味は、
the gradual process of learning or being influenced by something, as a result of being in close contact with it
でしたね。
