In the morning and evening, the persimmons in my small garden fall to five or three. It's fertile, but this year's persimmons are a little small. When I bit at the fallen persimmon I picked up, it was a little surpris- ingly sweet. No wonder the birds should be happy to eat. Fallen persimmons usually have holes sung by birds.
