Ernesto Cisneros is an educator and the award-winning author of  Efrén Divided , which received national acclaim for its “honest depiction of characters” with whom young adults can identify.  It is the winner of the  prestigious Pura Belpré Medal (2020).  His follow-up book, Falling Short , has received two International Latino Book awards.  

Students from Key Middle School provided questions to the author, ranging from the writing process to immigration, leading to a lively discussion.
