Considered either waste material or delicacy(珍味), depending on the cultural context, offal(臓物)is the entrails(内臓、腸)and internal organs of a butchered animal. It is prepared and consumed in a myriad of ways throughout the world. In the Philippines, pig intestines(腸)are used to make a type of blood sausage called Dinuguan, and in Pakistan, livers, brains, and kidneys are components of Taka-Tak. The traditional Scottish haggis(ハギス)consists of sheep stomach stuffed with a boiled mix of liver, heart, lungs, rolled oats(押しオート麦)and other ingredients.
