　今は、2010年1月25日。
　ヴィエンチャンの空港にいます。

　これからタイのバンコクへ飛びます。
　国際線でラオス航空に乗るのは今日が初めてです。

　プロペラ機のATR-72型機に乗ります。
　国内線でもこの型の飛行機及び MA-60型機が使われています。

　According to a recent study, state laws banning the use of handheld devices behind the wheel have not resulted in fewer car accidents.
　Investigators reviewed insurance claims from crashes before and after such bans took effect in California, New York, Connecticut, and Washington, DC, and found that claims rates did not go down after the laws were enacted.
　The findings seem to conflict with current knowledge surrounding the use of handheld devices while driving.
　One potential explanation is that in states with such bans, drivers are turning increasingly to hands-free devices, which experts say pose just as much risk as the handheld ones.
