On Saturday in a ceremony held in Dili, Timor-Leste assumed the role of President of the Business Confederation of the Community of Portuguese Language Speaking Countries [CE-CPLP]. The role falls to Timor-Leste as it currently holds the rotating Presidency of the CPLP from 2014-2016. The Confederation, which began in 2004, strengthens cooperation between the business associations and entities of the nine CPLP member States to enhance conditions for business development and encourage increased economic activity. (3 March 2915, Government of Timor-Leste)
It must be hard to promote the activities of CPLP due to the big gap among the members, economical, cultural, geological, populational, and so on. Nonetheless, they have the common language to express their thinking. No linguistic diplomacy is needed to open the joint declaration. (2015.03.10 11:22:19)
rakuten0811さん Thank you for your comment. Portugal and Brasil are developed further compared with other member countries. Portuguese are an official language in Timor-Leste, but they are not good at speaking the language.
