時空の旅わくわく日記

　案山子の写真は、朝食前に自転車で近所を回っているときに見かけた田んぼの景色です。稲も順調に生育していました。

　奥のほうに東京タワーが写っている写真は、田町界隈から見かけた都会の景色です。人工の冷たさはありますが、実際はエアコンのせいでものすごく熱いのだろうと思います。緑地をもっと増やして、地表面の温度上昇を抑制し、蒸発散量を増やしてほしいものです。また、建物配置や街路設計を工夫して、風通しが良い熱がこもりにくい都市空間を形成してほしいものです。

I visited Minuma rice field area in the morning on July 25, 2025. On the same day I took a picture of Tokyo tower from Tamachi area.

Urban areas usually experience the urban heat island (UHI) effect; that is, they are significantly warmer than surrounding rural areas. The temperature difference is usually larger at night than during the day, and is most apparent when winds are weak, under block conditions, noticeably during the summer and winter. The main cause of the UHI effect is from the modification of land surfaces, while waste heat generated by energy usage is a secondary contributor.
