Farming in Betalbatim saw a new wave as the fields in front of the Our Lady of Remedios Church were cultivated this year. The newly formed BETALBATIM FARMER's ASSOCIATION hopes to revive the farming activity in Betalbatim. The traditional methods farming in Goa like transplanting and harvesting are labour intensive which makes it financially uneconomical. This is one of the reasons that many gave up growing their paddy fields. The absence of proper fencing to keep out cattle from feasting on the crop is another reason that is a huge block.
