When I was looking at the calendar, I noticed that this christmas is a 3 days weekend. For New Year's holidays, we're going back to Kobe. So we can't go anywhere too expensive and too far. But it would be nice if we can go way to a nearby hot spa for a night. Well, I guess I better do some research on this.

(苦笑)The university I work for started its reccomendation entrance exams yesterday. Before going to my office, I stopped by the cafeteria to buy some coffee at the vending machine. As I was walking into the cafeteria, I saw many highschool seniors preparing for their exams for the last time and their parents sitting by them. I thought these highschool students looked really fresh and it made me bring back my memories of when I was taking my entrance exams as a highschool senior, too. Because it's a short autumn break this week, the university campus is very quiet. Although there are reccomendation entrance exams, all the cafeterias were closed, too. Thanks to the nearby convinience store that was open, nor we wouldn't be able to eat any lunch yesterday. This situation will continue until today. Today I'm bringing my lunch! , so I don't have to worry about eating lunch today.

正月が来る頃には今よりもスリムダウンしてるぞぉ~♪Recently I feel that I've gained a bit of a weight. Atleast I gained some weight since I was single. Because I'm tall, thanks to my height!, I don't look too fat at all. But I'm not all that alright! It's almost time for New Year's holidays. Going back to my family means I'll be eating alot because there's alots to eat with many to eat with, too. This means there are very high possibilities of over eating! So I decided to go on a 1 month diet from today. First I'll start off by not eating snacks and drinking canned juices and coffees. I'll also start eating only 1 bowl of rice for dinner everyday. My plan is to lose 3 kgs. I'm a type of person who trys hard when the goal is set. So I think once my mind is set on it, I'll have no problem at it. Just wait and see, how slim down I'll be by New Year's!

今後、何をどう信じて一生の買い物をすればいいんだろうね??When I turn on the news, all I see on it is about the problems concerning earthquakes proof mansions. For us too, it's not a problem just for the ones involved in it now.In the near future, we too, are thinking about buying a mansionof our own. So the conclusions of this problem is something we areinterested in.My grandpa was a first class architect. He was a meister like architect, too. If my grandpa was here and heard about this, he would be mad.At the same time, it's too bad we can't consult a professional whomwe can trust. What can we trust when we are shopping for our life??

But this is still continuing after we got married, too. I call him, "hiroro(nickname)" and he calls me "Okusama(meaning Mrs. in Japanese)". Sometimes I'm called by my real first name and the sound of it is a bit ticklish and feels weird, too. I wonder the way we call ecahother will change after we have kids?!

Day before yesterday, my mom called me and told me a sad news. The mother of our family friend, when we lived in the U.S. had been killed in a car crash. This family had a girl who was my sister's age and we lived just across from eachother, too. So, us children grew up as sisters and brothers. Ofcourse, our family friendship were still continuing although we returned to Japan. She was only 55 when she died. And because she was so young and it was all happened too suddenly, we just can't believe it! I want to visit her grave and give my prayers as well as visit another good friend of ours, who is fighting against breast cancer. Because Japan and the U.S. is far in distance, it's not very easy to travel and make a visit. I wasn't able to make my decision to visit the U.S. because I was too afraid, if I visit my friend who is fighting against breast cancer, it'll be our last meeting. But I don't want to regret that I didn't visit her, even if I could of. So I decided to make this trip possible. Because I'm working now, I won't be able to get a long holidays till spring. But while I wait for spring to come, I'll save up some money and make my plans to travel.

来年はもっといい夫婦になれてるかな?!Recently, many departments make original events and anniversaries topromote many sales.Today, November22 is one of them and it's "happy married couples day".Last weekend, when we went to the department store to buy winter season gifts, department store was promoting sales for winter greeting gifts, happy married couples day and christmas. When we were there, I tried to make an appeal about "happy married couples day". Yesterday my childhood friend,Jyouousama(By the way, it's internet name) from kindergarden days came to visit me.As I have written here before, we had a dramatic reunion on the internet.I was very happy about this reunion, so I was very excited about it this morning. As we reunited, we looked at each other and said to one another,"You still have that resemblence in you from those kindergarden days." with a big smiles. Then I introduced hiroro to her and we both showed the recent photosof our families. I think she was surprised to see how grown up my sister became because last time we played, my sister was only 3 or 4 years old. Then we ate and talked. We had cups of coffees and teas and we talked. We talked about many things. I can't remember the last time I had talked on and on without noticing how many hours had gone by.But what made me really happy was it was the same little girl that I had known many many years ago.She said the same about me,too.Later hiroro said to me after listening to our childhood stories, "You two were really mischievious little girls, weren't you??"Anyways, our childhood friendship that had coincidentally reunited us once again will be a friendship for life.

Since I'm having a reunion with my childhood friend from kindergarden, I'll tell you a little story of me, when I was in kindergarden. When I was a little girl, I was always full of curiosity. One day, I was curious to why Yakult that I always loved to drink, came in such a small package. So one day, I secretly took a whole pack of Yakults from the refrigerator and poured it into big glass. I still remember the terribly sweet taste of Yakult in my mouth. I learned my lesson that Yakult tastes alot better when it comes in a small package. And my mom found this out, and she got very angry with me. That memory, I remember well.

Her name is Jyousama(meaning Queen in Japanese). By the way, it's her internet name. It has been 20 years or so, since we have last parted and she is coming over to our house for our reunion tommorow. Of course after our reunion, we have e-mailed and talked to eachother on the phone, too. It's strange but we can talk as if there were no time loss between us. Is it maybe because we're childhood friends?? According to her, when I showed her my recent photos, I haven't lost the resemblence of a little girl that she had once known. We 're going to talk on and on and on, so that we can catch alot up!

I used to work at an office of private nursing home for about 2 years. Looking after my grandpa who was then very ill made me go into this career. Working in an office of a nursing home doesn't mean just sitting all day making documents. I had to check all the medications of the elders, go to the hospital with them, and I also had to work in the home when there were no home helpers to take care of the elders, too. Maybe working for the field of social welfare fit my personality. It didn't really bother me much about working at the nursing home. In fact, I liked it. I had learned alot from working with the elders and I think I had great experiences from it,too. Now my ex-boss works at a private nursing home in Tokyo as a head boss. Recently, I had consulted with her about studying animal therapy and so on. When we were talking, she told me that she was running out of employees. Working for this job really shows if you really fit working in it or not. And it's common that many quit, too. We talked about "Guide Helpers". Next year, the laws for social welfare in general will be renewed. So from next year, the law will be strict and you have to be certified to work in the field of social welfare. What is guided helpers?? It's a helper 's job including deaf, blind, Althheimer, and other physical disabilities and uncommom diseases. My ex-boss gave me a advice that there are too few guided helpers now, so if I study both animal therapy and guided helpers, it'll broaden the fields of job. It was the first time I had heard about it, so I'll have to look into it. But I'm so excited that it'll broaden up my thoughts toward animal therapy.

She received my letter. Next month, my sister's boyfriend will be visiting my family and will be staying with them for about 2 weeks. If we lived near my family home, we would be able to meet him. But we can't go home because we're both working. We sent my sister a little present for her and her boyfriend. We sent them a paired love charms that we got from a nearby shrine, with our wish that they will stay together although they live far apart now. She called me to thank us for our thoughts. When I was younger, I used to have a long distance relationship, too. So I can understand about being in love with someone living far away. I hope that they can understand that as a family, we support their relationship.

When I was sleeping this morning, there was an earthquake. There were many earthquakes about a month ago.But one day, it stopped. And about 10 days ago or so, earthquakes began again. But recently, I have gotten used to earhquake magnitude 3 andI'm not too scared anymore. Getting used to things are scary! When I got up and turned on the TV as usual, there was a map ofcautions of Tsunami on TV.Fortunately, we live in the inner land, so we have nothing to do with Tsunami. But I fear a bit that if there are Tsunamis, then there might be a bigger earthquakes, too.I better take out the emergency backpacks that I had made fromour closet before I go to work.

It has been getting cold for the past week or so. Because the heating system will not be turned on until next Monday, 2 old fashioned white round stoves came out. Luckily, one of them was set right behind me. So it'll keep me warm enough to work. My office started warm biz from this winter. But if they don't keep us in a comfortable working environment, we'll all catch a cold!

Yesterday, we went on a Hato Bus Sightseeing tour of Tokyo with our friends. I had lived in Tokyo before, but I have never been to Tokyo Tower nor a sightseeing tour of Hato Bus. If it wasn't for one of our friend's plan, we would never had a chance to join the Hato Bus sightseeing tour of Tokyo. Today's tour was called "Tokyo Story of Old and New". We visited old and new sightseeing spots of Tokyo. We went to the Imperial Palace, Yasukuni Shrine, Asakusa, Odaiba and Roppongi Hills. Because there will be Princess Norinomiya's wedding ceremony on this coming 15th, it was strictly guarded and we were lucky to see Horse Guards practicing for the soon to be held ceremony, too. When we visited Yasukuni Shrine, there were outdoor antigue show. At Asakusa, we walked around Sensouji Temple and Nakamise Street. We ate delicious Tempura at a famous Tempura restaurant in Asakusa. At Odaiba, we enjoyed window shopping. At Roppongi Hills, we enjoyed the clear view of Tokyo area ftom the observatory floor and visited Mori Art Museum, too. Although the tour made us hurry alot and we weren't able to see everything, we were like kids on a field trip. One of our friends had his birthday yesterday, so we all celebrated it and there was also bus guide check with the guys and etc. It was really fun. We took many photos, funny ones on our friend's digital camera. Next time, we are having an end of the year nabe party with these friends and other friends at a rental cottage. That's something we're looking forward to next.

To Japanese sake lovers, it's a season of new Japanese sake. So yesterday afternoon, we drove to the Japanese sake maker that we always go to. The purpose of our visit is new season's Japanese Sake Kasu(Japanese sake scums). You can only buy Japanese Sake Kasu during this season. Compared to Japanese Sake Kasu sold in supermarkets, Japanese Sake Kasu sold in Japanese Sake Kasu is thick, full of alcohol and delicious! And 500g is about ¥300 is relatively cheap, too. We eat it by making Japanese Sake Kasu soup or bake it on the net, put some sugar on it and eat it. I think we can enjoy delicious Japanese Sake Kasu for a while. By the way, new Japanese Sake will be out in the beginning of this week.

Yesterday's snack in our office was an apples. It was apples that someone brought in for all of us in the office. To tell you the truth, I hate apples. I hate the bite of the apples since I was a little girl. But I like apple pies. Because I was too busy working on my own, I didn't notice that a piece of apples were given out to everyone. I didn't notice my apple until my elder colleague told me, "You better eat your apples before they turn into a bad color."And I looked at my apples with a surprise because there were 2 pieces of apple. My elder colleague told me that I looked very pale since I had a bad cold in the beginning of the week and she told me, "Eat up! So that you can get over your cold." Because I knew that she had peeled the apples for everyone and she was also worried about me, I felt too bad and a coward to say,"I hate apples." So I tried really hard to eat a piece. But the I couldn't eat two. So I offered it to a person sitting next to me by saying, "Ah, would you like my apple because I'm a bit full right now?" And she said alright and ate my apple. I was able to slide by my apple incident somehow. It's only an aplle, but when it's something you hate, it's just really irritating.

っていうことで、もちろん我が家にはクリスマスはやってきます~♪しかしこんな迷惑メール、誰が発信するんでしょうね??Yesterday hiroro received a spam e-mail.**********Important Notice*************No Christmas this year! There will be no Christmas on Dec.25,2005 due to many inconviniences.Because there will be no Christmas, there will also be no Christmas Eve this year. We are very sorry to inform you this in such a late notice and we are also sorry for those who are looking forward to this coming Christmas, too.Because of this notice, hiroro said maybe we should have no Christmas either. But I gave him a quick reply back and told him, "Before we got married, we promised that we'll celebrate our wedding anniversary, birthdays and Christmas even if we be come old. You're Christian, aren't you?,Dominic ." Because my mother-in-law was a Christian, hiroro was christened when he was a little boy. He also has a Christian name, "Dominic". This name, too is often used at our home. But he is no longer a real Christian, who doesn't go to church anymore. We don't really have a religion that we believe in. hiroro was surprised at my fast response. Ofcourse, we are having our Christmas this year! Anyways, I wonder who is sending such a dumb spam e-mail like this.

今日1日でなんとか回復するといいな~☆I had been knocked out by the cold virus that was quietlygoing around in my office.2 nights ago, I had a very sore throat.Since I have a very weak throat in the first place, I wentto the hospital yesterday morning and got my medicines for thecold. But from last night, I had some fever, very thore throat and some coughs, too. Yesterday evening, while hiroro was off to his business meeting, I had a little reunion with my old friend. She and I used to work together when we were in college. During my 4 years in college, I had a part-time job at one of the big bookstores in Tokyo. I decided to go out for this job for 2 simple reasons. One was that I loved books very much and I heard that I can get some dicount if I worked there. The other reason was that I would be able to read the latest books first in the store. And because the bookstore had a strict atmosphere, the college students who worked there had serious attitudes and were relatively normal, too. My friend that I met was already married and a housewife. But when we start talking, nothing much had changed and it brings us back to our days working together. After we talked over cups of coffee, we decided to stop by at the bookstore where we both used to work because I also wanted to look for some books on animal therapy and social psychology. We found an employment ad by the bookstore. We both laughed bitterly that a college part-timer's wage had been raised ¥125 than when we were working. Anyways, I was very satisfied to be able to find and buy my books. When I was buying my books, we both looked at each other again and laughed bitterly at what we,too had been doing as a part-timer at the bookstore. We probably used to look like these girls, too. Although we had laughed bitterly alot, we enjoyed our reunion. This month, there are more reunions to come! I'm looking forward to my reunion with my childhood friend that I reunited recently through the net and my ex-boss, who had been my mentor in the world of business from a woman's point of view. I'm really looking forward to seeing them!

再会も大事な出会いだから、ひとつひとつ大切にしなくちゃね~♪This evening, hiroro has a business meeting in Tokyo. So I decided to go to Tokyo with him. During the day, we'll just hang out in the city and while he is working, I'll meet my friend in town.Recently, I have alots of reunion with my old friends(Friends that I made when I was living in Tokyo.). It's because I live alot closer to Tokyo now(I lived in Kobe before) than before and now I have a time of my own. I think having a time of my own is a fact that I have a room in my heart. Reunion is also priceless, so I should treasure it.

Yesterday, during our drive, we found an interesting cafe. It was called "Fairlady Cafe". It seemed like a new cafe in town. The 2nd floor was cafe space and the 1st floor was a gallery of Nissan Fairlady Z. There were first model Fairlady Z to the modern day Fairlady Z. The owner of the cafe loves cars, especially Nissan Fairlady Z and he made a cafe. My family car is Nissan. Because my dad loves Nissan cars, especially Fairlady Z and Skyline, I grew up in an environment where our family cars had always been Nissan cars. Our car that we ride now is Mitsubishi Pajero Mini. We were supposed to get Nissan Skyline, my family car. But Pajero Mini was the only memorable item(It was a car that my father-in law rode until he was long hospitalized) of my father-in-law's that hiroro received from his mother. We are going to ride it until we can't ride it and until then, whatever we want to really ride will be put to hold. Anyways as for me, for a woman, I like cars and I think I also know alot about cars, too. hiroro also loves cars. Although we were just driving by, we decided to have a coffee break. This cafe had a my cup system. You pay for your favorite cup(It's Kasama ceramic coffee cup and you can also take it home if you want, too) and you can keep it at this cafe. When you resgiter for this, you get a keychain with a number printed on the back. Next time you come, you show your keychain and you can have a cup of coffee with the cup you had kept before. Because it's an less than an hour drive from home, also a good distance for a nice drive, we decided to have our cups kept at the cafe. We were able to listen to interesting stories of cars from other car lovers and we were given a limited version of Tomica FairladyZ, too. We were happy to find another favorite place of our own.

Recently hiroro sleep talks alot. The other night, in the middle of the night, I was woken up by a voice next to me. It was hiroro's voice. He was pointing at the ceiling and saying, "There was something in that liquor and in it, there was something that was not supposed to be in it." He would repeat saying this several times. That night before going to bed, we drank a bit of Japanese sake. So I asked him, "Was there something bad in that sake we drank before going to bed??" But he replied,"No! In there." and he pointed at the ceiling. Then he just fell straight back to his sleep. I told him what had happened the next morning, but he doesn't remember at all! As for me, I'm still curious and wonder a bit about what all that was about.
