首里城全焼！
首里城全焼！ 復元建造物とはいえ、ことばがない。 昨日、私は近くの中学校の毎年恒例の「合唱祭」を市民会館大ホールに聴きに行っていた。終演後、私は自転車を駆りながら、沖縄の歌『芭蕉布』を口ずさんだ。合唱団「かしの木」のレパートリーの一曲が『芭蕉布』で、詞に「海の青さに空の青 南の風に緑葉の」と始まり、芭蕉の葉の風にそよぐさまを歌いながら「首里の古城の石畳 往古を偲ぶ片畔」と首里城へと目を向けるのである。---私は、まさかその夜、未明に、首里城の正殿から出火し全6棟の殿舎を全焼することなど想いもよらず、前日の雨がはれて秋の青空の下を歌いながら自転車を走らせていたのだ。 文化財の損失は、失って初めて、一人一人の心の拠り所であったことに気がつくものなのである。 Shuri Castle burnt down! One song of the repertoireof our the choir "Kashinoki" is "Bashouhu", whichbegins with the words " Sea is Blue, Sky is Blue, South Wind to Green Leaves" and sings the leaves of bashou(banana plant) are rustling in the wind, you look at Shuri Castle, and the cobblestones ofShuri Castle.....I did't think that the night, before dawn on the 31st, the fire started from the mainpalace of Shuri Castle, and the 6 buildings were burnt down, I sang under the blue sky in autumn, being running a bicycle. The loss of cultural properties is the only thing that we will notice that we lost the heartof each person.

八千草薫さんの紫色のフィルム
八千草薫さんが亡くなられたという。享年88。 私は女優・八千草薫さんについて小さな、しかし忘れられない思い出がある。私が最初に観た八千草さん出演の映画は、1954年の『宮本武蔵』（稲垣浩監督）だが、じつは同年の『蝶々夫人』（カルミネ・ガローネ監督、日伊合作東宝映画）の八千草さんにウットリしてしまった。 多分私が観た時期は初公開より1年遅れの1955年ではなかったかと記憶しているのだが、私は10歳だった。新築開校したばかりの八総鉱山小学校の講堂・体育館兼映画館でのことだ。鉱山社員の福利施設として立派な映写室とスクリーンおよび暗幕を備え、隔週の土曜日の夕刻に無料の映画館となったのである。みな家族揃って座布団を抱えて映画を観に行った。 映画『蝶々夫人』は、プッチーニ作曲のオペラの映画化で、もちろん音楽映画である。八千草さんは蝶々夫人を演じた。当時、私は八千草さんが宝塚歌劇団出身の女優だとは知らなかったが、八千草さんが映画の中で歌うその気品ある姿に10歳の私は陶然となった。そして、映画終了後、私は映写室に入って行き、上映途中で切れたフィルムの断片を映写技師にもらったのである。たしか少し紫がかった色彩だったと思うが、私は大切に家に持ち帰り、ときどき灯に好かして喜んでいた。それはさながらジュゼッペ・トルバトーレ監督の映画『ニュー・シネマ・パラダイス』（1988）のトト少年のように。私は『ニュー・シネマ・パラダイス』を観たとき、私の胸に、紫色に霞がかかった八千草薫さんのフィルムの中の姿が現れ、懐かしさに涙ぐみそうになった。 八千草薫さんのご冥福を祈ります。 Ms Yachigusa Kaoru died, aged eighty eight. I have a small but unforgettable memory about theactress Ms Yachigusa Kaoru. The first movie I saw inYatigusa-san was 1954's "Miyamoto Musashi" (Direc-tor Hiroshi Inagaki), but in fact the same year's "Mad-am Butterfly" ( Directed by Carmine Garone), I wasfascinated by her beauty. I probably remember that the time I saw was 1955, one year after the first release, but I was 10 years old.It's in the audiorium, gymnasium and movie theater of the newly built Yaso Maine Elementary School. Asa welfare facillity for miners and thier family, it was equipped with a fine projection room, screen, andblackout curtains, and became a free movie theater every other Saturday evening. The whole family went to the movie with a cushion each one. The movie " Madam Butterfly" was an opera filmcomposed by Pucchini, and of course a music movie. Yachigusa-san played Madam Butterfly.At that time, I did't know that Yachigusa Kaoruwas an actress from the Takarazuka Revue, butI, who was 10 years old, was fascinated by hernoble beauty and singing. Then, after the movie, I went into the projection room, and got a piece of film that was cut off during the screening, from a film engineer. I think it was a slightly purplish color, but I took it home with care and was happy to see throug the lights from time to time. It's just like the Toto boy in the movie "New Cinema Paradise" (1988) directed Giuseppe Torbatore. When I watched " New Cinema Paradise", the figure in the film of Ms Yachigusa Kaaoru, who wore purple mist on my chest, appeared, and I seemed to cry with nostalgia. 夢に促されて
きょうも一日中デスクワーク。海外への手紙を英語と他の言語で7通書き、他にもなにやかにや。20時20分にようやく終わった。 じつは、それらの手紙を何日も前から書こうと思っていたのだが、思うばかりで延ばし延ばししていた。すると今朝方、夢を見た。多分大学受験なのだろう、何気なく手に取った雑誌のページをめくっていたら、「願書締切11月1日」と書いてあるのが目に飛びこんできた。「ワーッ！大変！もう日にちが無い！」---その途端に目が覚めた。 つまりきょうのデスクワークは、夢に促されたのだ。やらなければならないことをやらずに愚図愚図しているからだ、と潜在意識が顕在意識に発破をかけたのである。 Today I also was doing office work all day. I wrote seven letters in English and other languages. It wasfinally over at 20:20. Actually, I had been thinking about writing thoseletters for many days, but I had extended it just asI thought. Then I had a dream this morning. Perhapsit was an entrance examination for a university, andwhen I eas turning a magazine page that I picked upcasually, I noticed that "Application deadline is No-vember 1". "Wow! Hard! No more days!"....I work upas soon as posible. In other words, today's desk works were inspiredby the dream. The subconsciousness blasted themanifestation consciousness because it was stupidly stupid without doing what it had to do.

作品記録の作成
きょうは作品制作を休んで、午後から半日がかりでこれまでの作品データの訂正および追加をした。たったいま（18時30分）夕食を終わったところだが、記録作成は今晩10時ころまでかかりそうだ。 データファイルに作品題名を日本語と英語で記し、作品サイズ、使用した画材、支持体の状態つまり紙の種類や、紙が別の支持体に貼ってある場合はその支持体名を書く。キャンヴァスについても同様に、木枠に張ってあるのか、パネルに貼ってあるのか、あるいは板に描いているのか等々。そして制作年や、現在の所蔵者名などである。---さあ、また一仕事だ。 Today, I took a rest from the painting and correctedand added the data of my works that it took in a halfday from the afternoon. おや、灯油の巡回販売車が
昼過ぎ、住宅街を灯油の巡回販売車が童謡「おお寒、小寒」を流しながら通って行った。秋なかば、気の早いと思うのは私だけかもしれないが、この秋初めての灯油巡回販売車である。高齢者の住宅が多い坂の街だ。防寒準備に早過ぎることはないだろう。商人の気が利いた早手回しを、高齢者たちは喜んだであろう。 After noon, a kerosene seling traveling car passedthrough a residential area while running a nurseryrhyme "Ōsamu, Kosamu (Very cold, Little cold)". In middle autumn, I may be the only person who feels it to be so hasty, but rhis is the first kerosene seling patrol car this fall. It is a hill town with many elderly housing. ちぎれた蝶の翅
今朝、いつものように落葉掃きをしていると、落葉の中に青緑色のメタリックな輝きをしている小さな破片が混じっていることに気付いた。 私は、何だろう？、と思い、身を屈めて指先で拾い上げた。裏を返してみると朽ち葉色をしていた。わずか3センチ長さのものだが、蝶の翅である。我家の近辺で見たことがない蝶である。 あとで調べてみようと思い、左の掌にのせたまま、右手で植木鉢の枯葉を摘み取りつづけた。が、気がつくと蝶の翅がどこかに飛んでしまっていた。私は身を屈め目をこらして20分ばかり辺りを探したが見つからなかった。翅の裏が朽ち葉そっくりな蝶の翅は、落ち葉の山にまぎれこんでは見つけるのは容易ではない。 諦めて家に入り、朝食を摂り、仕事場に入った。書棚から『日本蝶類図鑑』を取り出し、ページを繰りながら、もう一度失った翅を探してみるきになった。 庭を這うように探し、なんと、ついにあの小さな朽ち葉色の翅裏を見つけたのだ。 私の執念！ 老年になってもこういうことに関しての自分の執念を自嘲気味に思いながら、私は両掌のドームの中に大事に蝶の翅を収めて仕事場に戻った。 写真撮影をし、再び図鑑を調べ、「るりたては（Kaniska canace no-japonicum SIEBOLD 1824)」であることを突止めた。シーボルト博士が1824年に日本で発見し、命名した蝶である。 この蝶は東洋特産種であるが、なぜかメキシコの山中にぽつりと孤児のように存在する。ヨーロッパにはまったく存在しない。学名中の「no-Japonicum」は、日本特産ではないという意味であろう。ついでながら、シーボルトが来日したのは1823年の8月で、翌1824年に出島外に鳴滝塾を開設した。「るりたては」の発見はこの年であったことが学名から判る。 毎年我家の小庭に飛来する蝶のなかに、「るりたては」は、これまで見なかった。図鑑によれば追飛するので捕獲が困難とある。先日の台風で体躯をばらばらにされ、ただ一片の小さな翅だけが我家に辿り着いたのかもしれない。 死してなお青空染むる秋の蝶 青穹「るりたては」左上翅 表と裏 This morning, when I was sweeping the fallen leaves,I noticed that there was a small piece of blue-greenmetallic glitter in the leaves. The back of the wing is just like a decayed leaf, so it's not easy to find it by squeezing it into a pile of fallen leaves. I gave up, entered the house, had breakfast, and entered the atelier. I took the " Japanese Butterfly Picture Book" from the bookshelf and going throughthe pages I want to find lost wing again. So I looked like I crawl the garden, and finally Ifound the small decayed leaf-colored wing. My obsession! This butterfly is an oriental special species, butfor some reason it exists like a lonly orphan in the mountains of Mexico. It doesn't exist at all inEurope. The name "no-Japonicum" may mean that it is not a Japanese specialty. By the way, Siebold came to Japan in August 1823, and in 1824 the next year, Narutaki Juku(The Narutaki Private School) was opened out-side Dejima, Nagasaki. It is clear from the sci-entific name that the discovery of "Ruritateha"was this year. In the butterflies that fly to my garden everyyear, I have never seen " Ruritateha". Accordingto the pictorial book, it is difficult to capture because it flies away. 残念！ 日本敗れた、ラグビー準々決勝
残念！ ラグビーW杯準々決勝、日本対南アフリカの試合は3-26で日本チームが敗れた。 予選プールAを無敗で快進撃し、初の8強入りをした日本チームだったが、準々決勝を突破することができなかった。ハーフタイムは3-5だったので、あるいは4年前の対南アフリカ試合のように大金星を期待しながら私は応援していたのだが、日本チームはトライが一度もできなかった。意外といえば意外だが、強豪中の強豪である南アフリカの壁は厚かった。日本チームの3点は田村選手のペナルティーゴールである。 ノーサイド、敵味方無く、南アフリカの勝利に拍手だ。 Unfortunately! Rugby World Cup quarter-finals, Japan vs. South Africa lost 3-26 in the Japanese team. ブログを2日間書かなか理由
昨日あたりから急に寒くなった。前日まで半袖シャツを着ていたのだが、長袖シャツを着込んだ。 一昨日の朝10時ころに、昼間はなかなか会えない高齢者を訪問した。そのときに、かなり大きな倒木が山の斜面に引っかかっているのに気付いた。山際の住宅の前の駐車場に今にも落ちて来そうなほどである。訪問した高齢者が外に出てきてくださり、一緒にその倒木のある山の斜面を見やりながら話を訊くと、先日の19号台風の影響ではなく、実はそれ以前の15号台風のときに巨木の一部が折れたのだと言った。 私は帰宅してから、まったくの別件で包括支援センターに支援を要請しなければならなかったので、同時に倒木の件を相談した。しかしそれは包括支援センターが扱う問題ではないと言われた。 翌日、つまり昨日17日、あらためて倒木の危険性について市に連絡した。市でその件を把握しているかどうかを調べて折り返し私に電話するというので私は待つことにした。すると20分ほどで市から電話が入り、倒木の1件は市として知っており、現在、市の費用で撤去するために準備しているとの返答だった。 （それにしても時間がかかり過ぎる）と私は思ったが、---台風15号は9月5日に発生したので---、市が見過ごしにしていないことを良しと思い、私は担当者に礼を言った。 このブログ日記を2日間書かなかったが、その間に何やかにやと出て来る問題を片付けていた。 そして、今日、午後から絵筆を執って新しい作品にとりかかった。 テーマは4,5年前に描いていたことに後戻りするのだが、---いや、じつは私が20代のころに描いたイメージを40年以上も経った今になって、あの頃に思い到らなかった考えを新しく描いて付け加えてみようと、この一作だけ後戻りするのだ。 It suddenly got cold from yesterday. 高齢者の気持に寄り添いながら
午後、市から依頼された高齢者11人を訪問。途中で小雨が降り出したが、そのまま少し濡れながら訪問をつづけた。台風の被害はなかったけれど、その後の心配がないわけではない。この人たちが日頃の気持を吐露されるのを，私はじっと耳を傾けて心の平安をとりもどす手助けするのも私の役目だと思っている。 In the afternoon, I visited 11 elderly people requested by the city. It began to rain on the way, but continued to visit while getting wet a little. There was no damage from the typhoon, but it is notwithout fear. I think it's my job to help them regain their peace of mind as they are exposed to their every-day feelings.

勝った！ 抜けた！ ラグビー日本
台風19号は関東・東北など各地に多大な被害をもたらした。「嵐の前の静けさ」と言うが、嵐が去った今朝の光に満ちた青空は憎いほどだ。我家の近辺は幸いなことにほとんど何事もなく済んだ。私の家では植木鉢がひっくりかえった程度である。 さて、この台風で中止になるかと思っていたラグビーの日本チーム対スコットランド・チームの試合は、予定どおり行われ、さきほど（21：40）ノーサイド。28-21で日本チームが勝利した。後半14分でこの点数だったので、ノーサイドまでの時間が長いこと。日本チームはすでに4トライを決めていたので、ボーナス点が加点されるとはいえ、ここでスコットランド・チームがトライし、コンバージョンを決めれば逆転してしまう点差だった。いやー日本チームが勝利して嬉しい。ベスト8へ進出は、初めてのことである。 Tyhoon No. 19 caused a lot of damage in various places such as Kanto and Tohoku. 避難勧告が市内に発令
台風19号の影響による激しい雨は、夕刻より風音が混じり出した。我が市では市内を流れる川が増水し、午後には警戒レベル4の避難指示が発令された。対象世帯は11,657、27,445人。 現在（18時20分）、土砂災害警戒情報による避難勧告が市内に放送され、私のもとにメールでも送信されてきた。 我家は山の上にあるので、避難勧告の対象にはなっていないが、私が民生委員として担当する地区には山崩れの危険性がある場所がある。緊急時の要支援者も居住するので、私も心構えをしている。 我家としては、昨日の日記に書いたとおり家の周囲は一応の守りを固め、食糧や飲料水や懐中電灯あるいは応急傷害処置用品などは準備してある。 The heavy rain caused by Tyhoon No, 19 was mixedwith strong wind noises from the evening. 台風来襲に備える
民生委員児童部会の会合に出席。朝8時20分から午後2時まで。台風の影響による雨を心配しながら傘やらレインコートをバッグに詰めて自転車で出かけた。行きは良い良い、帰りは濡れ鼠。レインコートを着ても、自転車に乗っていては膝上はびしょ濡れである。 帰宅後、すぐさま台風来襲に備えて家の周囲を点検し、風に飛ばされそうな物を屋内に取り込んだ。 何だか判らないが無言電話が2度。同じ人物だろう。---不審者への対応も準備。 Attended a meeting as a commissioner of the Local Welfare Commission and a member of the Section for the Children's Welfare. From 8:20 to 2 pm. I worried about rain caused by the typhoon and went out by bicycle with an umbrellas and a raincoat packed in my bag. Good way to go, but dripping-wet clotheson the way home. Even if I wear a raincoat, my kneeswere soked when riding a bicycle. When I returned home, I immediately inspected thesurroundings of thehouse in preraration for the ty-phoon attack and took in things that were likely to be blown by the strong wind. I did not know what it was, but there were twosilent calls. Maybe, the same person.....So I was preparing to respond to suspicious individuals.

尻に火が付いた
ほぼ一日中、仕事場に閉じこもって作品を次々と仕上げて行った。今週末に画廊へ出荷しなければならない。いよいよ尻に火が付いた。 I stayed in the studio almost all day and finished the work one after another. I have to ship to the gallery this weekend. I'm really being pushed now.

今年は柿の実を収穫できず
毎朝、柿の落葉を掃いている。じつは今年は柿の実をまったく収穫できなかった。たった一本の樹に400個ほど成ったのだが、その半分以上は、早朝、鳥がやってきて啄み、残りは自然落下してしまったのである。 こんなことは17,8年間に初めてのことだ。文字通りただの1個も収穫できなかったのだ。鳥たちが食ってくれたのは良かった。しかし、花の無い我家の小庭が、秋になると朱色の実の豪勢な彩りにつつまれていたけれど、今年は降るごとき落葉のみの淋しさなのである。柿酢も柿酒も柿グラッセも造れない。 Every morning, I'm sweeping the fallen leaves of per-simmon. In fact, I couldn't harvest any persimmon fruits this year. There were about 400 fruits in the single tree, but more than half of them were birds that came early in the morning and pecked, and the rest fell naturally. Such case is the first time in 17 or 18 years. Literallyjust one couldn't be harvested. It was good that birdsate. However, my garden, which has no flowers, was surrounded by the splendid vermilion of persimmons in autumn, but this year it is only the fallen leaves that fall. I can't make persimmon vinegar, persimmonn liquor, or persimmon glacé.

障害者運動会をサポート
今日は午前9時から午後3時30分まで、障害者のみなさんの運動会をサポート。私も「パン食い競走」に出場し、また「借物競走」には3度借り出された。 Today I supported the athletic meet for the handi-capped from 9 am to 3:30 pm. I also participated in the "Pan-kui kyōsō (Bread eating race )" and was checked out three times in the "Karimono kyōsō (Borrow thing race) ".

サモアに勝利、ラグビーW杯1次リーグ
ラグビーW杯1次リーグ、プールA、日本vsサモアの試合はたった今（21時24分）終了し、38-19で日本チームが勝利した。日本チームは3連勝無敗で、プールAの首位に立った。決勝トーナメントへまた一歩近づいたわけだが、まだ13日の対スコットランドの試合結果が出なければ、予断を許されない状況だ。私は気が気ではない。 The Rugby World Cup first league, Pool A, Japan vs.Samoa murch has just ended (21:24) and the Japaneseteam won in 38ー19. The Japanese team took the lead in Pool A with three consecutive wins without losing. Although we were one step closer to the final tour-nament, if the result of the game against Scotland onthe 13th Oct. do not come out, it would be unaccept-able. I am nervous about the result of it.

文化を紹介するなら正しく伝えてください
大英博物館において奈良・大英博物館主催「奈良 ー 日本の信仰と美のはじまり」展が3日に開幕したという。朝日新聞社などが特別協力している。 その朝日新聞DIGITALに紹介記事が写真付で掲載されている。出品物などの写真である。 ところがその出品物の写真に付けられた名称を見て、---いや、その漢字で書かれた名称に振られたルビを見て、私は嘆息してしまった。〈銅造観音菩薩立像・夢違（ゆめちがい）観音（法隆寺、飛鳥時代〉と書かれていたからだ。 朝日新聞社よ、夢違（ゆめちがい）ではありません、（ゆめたがへ）です。方違え（かたたがへ）と同じ名詞です。この訓みはこの観音信仰の本質を指すばかりではなく、言うなれば信仰の形、あるいは信仰のベクトルをあらわしているのです。 どういうことか。 「違へ」は他動詞から名詞に変化したと考えられる言葉です。この観音菩薩立像については、もともと他動詞であることが重要なのです。すなわちその主体は観音様だからです。凡夫のよからぬ夢を変えてくださる。---そこに信仰が生まれているのです。凡夫の切なる願いがこめられているのです。「悪夢を変えてくださるのだ」と。 「ゆめちがい」とも言うのだなどという強弁は通りません。私は朝日新聞の校閲係は何をしているんだと思いましたよ。文化を紹介するなら正しく伝えてください。 The exhibition entitled " Nara ー The Beginning ofFaith and Beauty in Japan" is held under the sponsor-ship of Nara and the British Museum at the British Museum. 消費税増税後の初めての買い物
消費税増税後に初めての買い物をした。画材費にどの程度影響がでるかと思ったのだ。とりあえず1点ないし2点の特殊技法の小品の最終仕上げに必要な物を買ってみた。合計17,254円。10％の消費税が1,568円だった。増税前の8％だと1,380円であるから、188円の値上がりということになる。今日の材料にはキャンヴァスや木枠、絵具や溶き油、そして小・中品1作の細密描写に4,5本消耗するウィンザー・アンド・ニュートンの黒テンの筆などは含まれていない。結局、ざっと見積もって、小・中作品1点につき2,3千円の消費税ということになろう。 I did my first shopping after the consumption tax hike. I wondered how much it would affect the material costs of the painting. For the time beging, I bought what I need for the final finishing of one or two spe-cial technique pieces. Total 17,254 yen. The 10％ consumpyion tax was 1,568 yen. If it is 8％ before the tax increase, it is 1,380 yen, so the price increased by 188 yen. Today's materials do not include canvases, woodenframes, paints and every kind of oils, and Windsor &Newton's sable brushes which consume four or five ina detailed depiction of one small or medium size work.In the end, a rough estimate would be a consumptiontax of 2,000 or 3,000 yen per small / medium sizepainting.

今朝の落葉
今朝、庭の落葉を掃きながら、柿の落葉があまりにも美しかったので、かがみ込んで手にとり、しばらく眺めていた。鞣し革のような厚みと深い色合いの柿落葉が私は好きだ。The Fallen Leaves of Persimmon in this Morning
