悪くないんじゃないかな～神保町餃子小籠包　Not Bad at All: Jinbocho Gyoza & Xiaolongbao

ランチには餃子12個の「鬼餃子丼」とか、巨大なからあげがのった「超からあげ丼」などもあるが、ラーメンやチャーハンなどのスタンダードなメニューもそれなりに充実している。値段は700～900円程度と財布にやさしい。

料理自体はあまり特筆すべきものはないように思うが、1000円札でお釣りがくるところがなによりありがたいし、ランチメニューも豊富なのが嬉しい。しばらく週1回ぐらいのペースで通ってみようと思う。

A Chinese restaurant tucked away one street back from Suzuran-dori in Jinbocho. It has a name that most Japanese people probably wouldn’t come up with themselves. From what I can tell, it’s run by people from Taiwan rather than mainland China, and in addition to dumplings, the menu offers a wide variety of dishes such as lu rou fan (braised pork rice).

At lunchtime, there are options like the “Oni Gyoza Bowl,” topped with 12 dumplings, or the “Super Karaage Bowl” featuring a massive piece of fried chicken. That said, more standard items like ramen and fried rice are also reasonably well represented. Prices are easy on the wallet, generally ranging from 700 to 900 yen.

The food itself isn’t especially memorable, but the fact that you still get change from a 1,000-yen bill is something to be truly grateful for. With such a wide selection of lunch sets, I think I’ll be coming back about once a week for a while.
