Behold, mustard flowers unfold Beneath the moon which rising high Softly lights as it climbs The edges of the eastern sky And still the sun remains aglow As it lingers west, so low In the corner of the field Where flowers their beauty wield
’Tis such a sight as to be seen O’er farmhouse meadows afar As day says her last farewell Sun and moon together gleam Twinned they shine upon the face Of spring flowers in their place Greeted by the rustling breeze Which sweeps from Vale through fine new leaves
Fluttering blossoms, ne’er confused Whence to show their golden eyes For moon and sun are friends this day In a field where happiness lies Nestled in a bed of gold Such beauty I’ve yet to behold East and west join to be one The radiance of moon and sun
I pause perchance to catch a glance Of Mother Nature’s playful dance Should the night be ne’er to come My wand’ring soul shall hitherforth Stay within the charms of light Trapped in this time not day not night Beside the flowers as they grow Beneath the moon and sun that glow
